Then and Now
Over the years the Focus has changed significantly, on the interior and the exterior design. It is obvious that engines have become more efficient and safety features have improved but more things have changed. Below is a timeline of the Ford focus from the year 1998 (year of creation) until 2019 (present year).
1998 Ford Focus Sedan- this was the first ever model invented. Sold in both 2 and 4 door models and available in 10 colors.
2000 Ford Focus- this subcompact design replaced the 1998 version. Sold in 4 door only.
2005 Ford Focus Hatch- ford invents a hatchback design in the focus line. This years model was sold in a sedan body but was purchased more in the hatch style. Fords first model with a USB port.
2010 Ford Focus- this models aerodynamics changed significantly from any other year. In 2010 the 2 door became popular and although sold in both 2 and 4 door the 2 door sales were much larger.
2015 Ford Focus- sales in 2019 sky rocketed because of the dramatic change in exterior design. This year was the beginning of fords sleek designs. Sold in 4 door only, hatch and sedan.
2019 Ford Focus- this years Focus shocked buyers by its bulky, SUV type body. Normally the Focus was known for its small and sleek design but this year they released something totally new. Available in 4 door only, hatch and sedan.

Body Styles
One thing that is convenient about the Ford Focus is that it offers a variety of styles to suit the personal style and needs of the driver. These are the following body styles available:
HATCHBACK
This model offers special features such as a rear spoiler which adds an aerodynamic look to the vehicle. Six speed Power Shift automatic transmission allows you to shift gears by the touch of a button, its the automatic vehicle that feels like a standard. This vehicle has a sporty look so for buyers looking for not the fanciest car this is for them.
SEDAN
This model is the most common on the road because of its typical body style. Features in this model are identical to the hatch however the trunk is significantly deeper. This car has a sleek finish, not a sporty as the hatch but more of a fancier finish. The sedan is available in a wider color range than any other Focus because it is the most popular.
2 DOOR
These models were discontinued in 2010 because of the lack of popularity. Two doors are not as convenient and make it difficult to transport passengers. These vehicles were only sold as an automatic and are still around today. Although not the most spacious the biggest selling feature was how fuel efficient they were.

The Ford Focus is a compact car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. The first model ever was released in July 1998 and it has continued to be one of Ford's best selling car models worldwide. The Ford Focus has a personal attachment to my family and I as it was our first family car and recently I was surprised with one of my own. This is the reason I have chose this topic to explain.
